The Trilogy Tour Oct 7, 2024 (2 months ago) WiZink Center Madrid, Madrid, Spain
Melanie brought back the emerald green dress she debuted at New York City (Night 2) on 6/6/24, reusing it for the first time at this show. This marked the dress’s debut on the EU/UK leg and was the only time it appeared on this leg of the tour, making it the second time it had been worn overall.
Melanie debuted a brand new maroon top and green skirt outfit combination during the “PORTALS” era at this show. While the top and skirt were reused from previous outfits on the tour, this marked the first time this combination was worn. Additionally, two maroon bows were added to the skirt to match the color of the top. This was the only time she wore this outfit throughout the entire tour.
During “Teacher’s Pet,” Melanie did not perform the usual floor choreography during the second pre-chorus. This marked the fourth time (including festivals) that she skipped the choreography. This was the second show in which she completely stopped doing it for the remainder of the tour, unlike previous instances, which had been one-offs.
At the end of “WOMB,” where Melanie usually shouts a variation of “Thank you so much!” to the audience, she switched to a different language for the fourth time on the tour, this time shouting “¡Muchas gracias Madrid!” in Spanish. Previously, she switched to French at her shows in Paris on 10/2/24 and Lyon on 10/4/24, and switched to Spanish at her previous show in Barcelona on 10/5/24.
This was Melanie’s third time performing in Madrid at this exact venue. Previously, she had performed here during both “The K-12 Tour” and the “PORTALS Tour.” However, for “The K-12 Tour,” only the general admission floor was used, with neither the lower nor upper balcony seating utilized. For the “PORTALS Tour,” the general admission floor and lower balcony were opened, but not the upper balcony. This show marked Melanie’s first performance at this venue where general admission and all seating areas were made available.
The barricade at this venue was placed notably further than at previous shows. The reason is unknown, as it could simply be the venue’s production team who positioned it a bit farther.
Prior to the show, WizInk Center posted an Instagram story showcasing a note that Melanie left, which said, “Thank you for having me ♡ All the love!” The note was signed by Melanie.
After the show, William Scott Blair, Melanie’s hairstylist, posted an Instagram story, filmed before the show, of Melanie, the tour dancers, crew, and friends wishing him a happy birthday with a cake.
