Fantastic show, small venue. I feel lucky to have seen them there.
I remember joking with my friend about the name "Fun." because it was before they broke out - but when we heard them play, we were on board! It was the first time I heard Some Nights, and I was hooked.
This was the first time - to my knowledge - that Panic! toured following Ryan Ross' exit and their subsequent hiatus, and the whole band seemed shocked and pleased that the crowd knew so many of their lyrics. When they sang one of the tracks from Fever You Can't Sweat Out, Urie joked about us keeping up with the fast lyrics better than him.
For their encore, Urie called out specifically that he saw the parents at the back of the room, who had brought their kids because it was the kids' music, not their own. He dedicated to all the parents a cover of Carry On, My Wayward Son, during which the whole band sang multiple harmonies. I would do just about anything for a recording of that performance.
This was their Vices & Virtues tour. Supporting document: https://www.spin.com/2011/05/exc...
