1) Possessed is an American death metal/thrash metal band and was formed in 1983 in San Francisco, California. After breaking up shortly after The Eyes of Horror, The band reformed under Mike Torrao in 1990. After releasing a couple of demos, the band split up. Possessed reformed again under original bassist/vocalist Jeff Becerra in 2007. They are noted for their fast playing style, Becerra's guttural vocals and have been cited as an influence on the death metal genre.
